Nursery for 20 Abandoned Babies
Hope Village Orphanage
In January, 2025, Footsteps for Africa opened a fully-stocked nursery to house 20 babies which have been abandoned and were being cared for at Katutura Hospital. In addition, we provided a fully-stocked clothing supply room for the children at the orphanage. This was made possible by a generous donation from Alan and Tiara Salzman.
IMPACT: As abortion is illegal in Namibia and unmarried pregnancy rates are high, many babies are abandoned. Hope Village is a tremendous organization that serves one of the most impoverished areas in the informal settlements surrounding Windhoek, Namibia. Through our contribution, we have expanded their capacity to care for more babies who would otherwise struggle to find care.
Hope Village relies on donations to operate and care for the 100+ children in its care. You can donated directly to them at https://hopevillagenamibia.org/.
HAVANA SOUP KITCHEN and GARDEN
Havana Charity Foundation
In January 2025, we opened a fully-stocked kitchen and garden for the Havana Charity Foundation, which feeds over 300 children in one of the most needy areas: Havana informal settlement.
IMPACT: This kitchen and garden increases the capacity of the Havana Charity Foundation to serve the surrounding community and feed more orphans and vulnerable children.

School Supplies for 100+ kids
Michelle McClean Primary School
Through generous donations including from Shannon Ricks (Salt Lake City, Utah), we were able to provide school backpacks and supplies to 100 children at Michelle McClean Primary School!
IMPACT: School children are required to purchase school uniforms and school supplies, in addition to paying school fees. Many underprivileged children are not able to afford these costs, and miss out on educational opportunities as a result. To quote the school headmaster after we distributed these supplies: “I am guaranteed to receive calls from parents that will tearfully thank me for these supplies.”
