Sponsoring Impoverished Students in Namibia
100% of donations go directly to the purchase of school supplies, uniforms, hostel fees, and/or school meals!
-
$100: Uniforms and school supplies for one student for an entire school year. Our goal is to sponsor 100 students.
-
$350: Housing and school supplies needed for one student for an entire school year. These students are not able to attend school unless they can be housed in the hostels on site, but they are unable to pay the housing fees. $350 per student needed. View pictures below of some of the students needing sponsorship.
-
$640: Feed between 120-150 students three meals per day for seven days. This sponsorship will allow the school to provide enough protein and vegetables to feed the children three balanced meals per day.
BACKGROUND
On a recent needs assessment trip around Namibia, the Footsteps for Africa team visited Ondobe Secondary School and met with headmaster Ms. Frieda Elago. The school has 442 students, including 128 who must live in on-site hostels due to the school’s long distance from many students’ villages. The school is located in the Ohangwena region, where the highest number of impoverished children in Namibia reside.
Ondobe is one of 5 schools with a high number of impoverished students in the Ohangwena Region that Footsteps for Africa will be assisting in 2025. As a sponsor, the students you help us support will have access to basic school supplies and resources needed to attend school. View the video below of students who must live in shacks, cook and bathe outside to attend school.
Please consider donating any amount! All donations are tax-deductible. Footsteps for Africa is a registered 501(c)3 organization (EIN: 27-3872294)
